Injection Molding
In 1992, we developed a unique method of injection molding small plastic parts. This method is focused around the simplicity of the tooling rather than obtaining the fastest cycle times. By using these simpler molds, lead times and tooling investments are greatly reduced. Almost a decade before "time compression technologies" and "rapid cut tooling" were industry buzzwords, we were creating molds for injection molded parts in days instead of months. We have a unique approach to tool design. We can match the tool design to the requirements of the customer. At one end of the spectrum, the simplest, most affordable mold can be created very fast but the cycle times will be slow and the part price will be higher. At the other end of the spectrum, a higher complexity (and higher priced) mold can be created that is designed to produce higher quantities of parts at the lowest part price. The process is similar to typical injection molding with the only difference being that the need to produce parts at very fast cycle times is relaxed. This allows the tooling to be made of aluminum and much of the complexity is removed. The simple mold also allows the processing equipment to be smaller, simpler, and less expensive to manufacture and operate. What are the benefits? Our molds require less time to design and make. Spending less time creating the mold allows us to deliver in a much shorter time frame and for a lower price. Since the molds are predominantly made from aluminum, they can be machined on modern CNC machine tools very rapidly, efficiently and accurately. Cost savings of 50% to 80% are typical.
