Small Case for Actuator
This was part of a product development process. The mold was designed in such a way that the cavity plate could be replaced with a re-designed cavity. There were a total of 8 design iterations that only cost $400 to create each new cavity, and thus a different part. There are two holes in the part that are 0.022" diameter. Many features have tolerances of 0.0005". Some thin wall sections are only 0.012" thick. The parts were used for life-cycle testing and prototypes. Knowledge learned about material flow and ejection characteristics was used in the design of production tooling. Vital Statistics: Mold Description: Two-cavity mold with ejection.
